Mosquera: "I'm very happy and excited about the opportunity to continue at this great club"
Valencia CF defender Cristhian Mosquera spoke to VCF after signing his contract extension with Valencia CF.
Contract extension with Valencia CF
"I'm very happy, of course. It's not something that happens for everybody. Being given this opportunity to continue at this great club is a huge thing. I'm very happy and very excited."
First team
"I had already been training with the first team for two seasons and preparing myself for this moment and I think I'm doing well. This is also thanks to my teammates and Baraja -who makes things easy for me-".
Arrival at the VCF Academy
"When you arrive here 12 years ago you have the dream of being able to reach the first team. You see it far away, but you believe in it. At the VCF Residence we worked on values, which is something very important, and the human group here at the VCF Academy, all the employees are incredible and that helps us as kids to be able to fulfill those dreams more easily."
Cristhian Mosquera as a person
"I have always considered myself a very simple person and that is reflected every day also in work, in continuing and having ambition to want more things."
Baraja
"He spoke with me at the beginning of the season. From the beginning they gave me a lot of confidence, that they were going to count on me and that I was going to have opportunities. The level I'm playing at is also thanks to them".
Team
"Everyone is very happy. They have congratulated me and I have been given a corridor. We are a family and that is transferred to the field of play. Outside we are also very united
Last stretch of the season
"At this point in the season, we have incredible ambition in the dressing room. We want to aspire to great things. We know it's not easy and that's why we're going to give everything on the pitch.
What would you say to young Mosquera?
"I would tell him that he has done it. I think that, when I arrived here, I had that dream of reaching the first team, playing in LaLiga for this great club. I've done it. It took a lot of work, a lot of sacrifice and the help of my family, and thanks to God. I'm very happy with the results".
